Lorraine specialises in all aspects of family law arising from the breakdown of a relationship, as well as pre-nuptial agreements and cohabitation ‘living together’ agreements. Before moving to Hutton’s, she spent over 15 years at a family law firm in the city centre.
She frequently advises on high net worth financial settlements arising from divorce and relationship breakdown and has a key interest in matrimonial finances, having worked on cases for high profile clients, lawyers, police officers, NHS professionals, members of the armed forces and stay-at-home parents.
Lorraine deals with all cases in an empathetic manner with the emphasis on client care. She takes a constructive and pragmatic approach to cases in the hope that the matter can be settled, but is known as a robust litigator if necessary.
She frequently advises on private law children matters i.e. where children should live and who they spend time with, as well as financial remedy ‘Schedule 1’ cases for children whose parents are not married or in a civil partnership.
Recent cases include:
- Successful retention of the family home and investment property by settlement avoiding a lengthy final hearing;
- Successful recovery of several years of court-ordered maintenance arrears together with substantial costs in our client’s favour;
- Successful change of residence for a vulnerable teenager
Interests
Lorraine enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her young family. She goes running whenever she can.
